Analytical materials
The results of the work carried out by 'The Day After' Foundation include analytical materials and recommendations for the effective participation of the women's movement in decision-making processes regarding the preparation and building of a sustainable and just peace in Ukraine.
This analytical report was prepared within the framework of the project «Women Lead Communities in Preparing for Peace», implemented by The Day After Foundation in partnership with the International Rescue Committee in Ukraine in February - July 2026.
The report is devoted to the study of the processes of social cohesion, trust, peacebuilding and the role of women leaders in the frontline communities of Ukraine. The research was conducted in April-June 2026 and is based on a combination of desk analysis, focus group discussions, and in-depth interviews with women leaders from six frontline regions (Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson).
The analytical report is intended for representatives of state authorities and local self-government bodies, civil society organizations, international partners, the research and expert community, as well as all those interested in the issues of social cohesion, community recovery and peacebuilding.
This document was developed based on the findings of a study visit by Ukrainian women leaders to Rwanda and the Republic of South Africa, which took place on March 17–31, 2025.
During the visit, Ukrainian, Rwandan, and South African women's and human rights organizations exchanged experience on the effective participation of women in post-conflict recovery, reconciliation, and strengthening national unity.
The visit was initiated by 'The Day After' Foundation (Ukraine) and organized in partnership with the Kigali Genocide Memorial (Rwanda) and the Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre (South Africa), with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation
This document was developed based on the findings of a study visit by Ukrainian women leaders to the Western Balkan countries, which took place on May 12–18, 2025.
As part of the visit, an exchange of experience was organized between Ukrainian, Bosnian, and Kosovar women's and human rights organizations regarding women's participation in post-war recovery processes, preparation for a just and sustainable peace, community reconciliation, and strengthening national unity.
The visit was initiated by the Ukrainian foundation 'The Day After' and was organized with the support of Žene za Žene International, a non-governmental organization founded in 2001 in Bosnia and Herzegovina that provides women with financial, psychological, and educational support to strengthen their role in economic, social, and political life.
